Amazonia is a striking natural quartzite sourced from the mineral-rich regions of Brazil, a country known for producing some of the world’s most vibrant and durable stone. Amazonia is distinguished by its dynamic mix of forest greens, soft greys, browns, and golden undertones — evocative of the dense, earthy layers of the Amazon rainforest. This natural variation gives the stone a richly organic and exotic aesthetic, ideal for creating bold, statement surfaces.

Amazonia is a metamorphic stone primarily composed of quartz, making it exceptionally hard and resistant to heat, scratching, and etching compared to softer stones like marble. Its chemical composition is predominantly silicon dioxide (SiO₂), giving it a high level of durability, which makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, including kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor environments.

Due to its natural formation, Amazonia may display occasional inclusions, veining variations, or mineral bursts — unique crystalline patterns formed under intense pressure and heat. These features may include fine fissures, colour clouds, or embedded pockets of translucent quartz that shimmer subtly in the light.

These natural markings are not defects, but rather are considered evidence of the authenticity and uniqueness of the stone. As with all natural materials, minor visual differences are to be expected and celebrated.

This is considered normal:

• Mineral inclusions: Acceptable in varying shapes and intensities; they enhance the character of the stone.

• Surface fissures or pattern shifts: Acceptable provided they do not compromise structural integrity.

• Colour movement and veining: Expected and inherent to the natural beauty of Amazonia quartzite.

Another feature that can appear in Amazonia are ‘taroli’, which are small craters on the surface of the marble and are the natural result of the crystallisation of calcium carbonate. It can be up to several millimetres in diameter.

This marble is characterised by a light to medium green veining that gently flows across a clean white to pale Gold background, offering a soft and harmonious appearance. Its  subtle tones and finer veining, making it a popular choice for spaces seeking a refined and consistent look.
