Porcelain tiles are a unique combination of shades of colour and surface finishes. They are extremely resistant to weather, frost, stains, scratches, slipping and bending.
Porcelain tiles may be glazed, polished or unglazed to suit a range of interior applications. They are also capable of imitating natural stone and come in a number of look-alikes such as limestone, marble and travertine. They are characterized by refined, elegant tones and lines, and their unmistakable style will beautify any home and non-residential project, both inside and outside.
Also known as vitrified tiles, they are often pressed under greater pressure during the manufacturing process and are fired at extremely high temperatures. This combined process makes them highly resistant to abrasion, chemical exposure and they have a very low water absorption rate (>0.1%) which makes them frostproof. These characteristics make these tiles an ideal solution for high traffic areas.
Unglazed Porcelain Unglazed porcelain tiles are very tough and they are extremely vitreous or dense. They are a through colour product and in very heavy traffic i.e.:- industrial flooring situations, they may wear, but will retain their original colour.
They are available with various finishes from matt to a very high polished gloss, also some types of patterns to studded finishes for more slip resistance characteristics. They are also now available at a rectified finish. This means tile edges are ground to an exact tile size with a square edge finish. (Some tiles may have small arissed or bevelled edge finishes).

Glazed Porcelain Again extremely durable products which are glazed on top of the dense tile body. This once glazed product, unlike the unglazed porcelain, can have pattern, varying colours and stone look-alike finishes. Glazed porcelain tiles can have a gloss or matt finish, and they can be ground and polished to produce a completely flat surface. They are also available in the rectified finish.
